Jay Slater search live updates as police say 'very unlikely' he'll be found alive

The search for missing British teenager Jay Slater is continuing as fresh new details of his last-known movements have emerged. The 19-year-old apprentice bricklayer was reported missing in Tenerife on Monday, June 17 and has not been heard from since. Jay had attended the NRG music festival on the island with two friends before his disappearance.

Former British cop Mark Williams-Thomas is on the holiday island helping the family. The experienced investigator, who has probed a string of high-profile missing persons cases, including Nicola Bulley's disappearance, has vowed to track down the two men whose Airbnb rental Jay went back to after the festival.

Mr Williams-Thomas said Jay sat on a wall outside the music festival venue before joining two men in a car headed for Masca.

Jay, from Lancashire, has now been missing for ten days after disappearing in the mountains of north west Tenerife. He had stayed at the Airbnb rental the night before he vanished after 'walking off alone' in a remote part of the island.

A huge search operation has been mobilised to track down the apprentice bricklayer, with members of the Civil Guard, fire crews and mountain rescue teams deployed to the vast and 'treacherous' Rural de Teno Park. Jay's friends and family have also travelled to the Spanish island to assist the search.
