Jadon Sancho needs to follow Andre Onana example after Erik ten Hag row at Manchester United

Jadon Sancho's Manchester United future remains up in the air as the Reds prepare for their Premier League return.

The 23-year-old has deleted a social media post defending himself after Erik ten Hag's criticism of his training standards following Sancho's omission from the squad at Arsenal. The England international has been banned from first-team training and it remains to be seen whether the Dutchman will welcome him back into the fold.

Evidently, the relationship has become strained but United still have a player of quality and a player of value. Leaving him out in the cold won't improve either so Ten Hag must decide whether to stick to his guns or build bridges.

The United chief ousted Cristiano Ronaldo last season while he also fell out with Andre Onana during their time together at Ajax and the United goalkeeper offers an example to Sancho of a route back into the fold. The Cameroon international was sought by the Reds this summer and reunited with Ten Hag a year on from their departures from the Dutch giants.

Ten Hag was courted by United while Onana moved first to Inter before arriving at Old Trafford. The 'keeper's departure from Ajax on a free transfer came in the aftermath of Ten Hag axeing him for a Dutch Cup final against PSV Eindhoven in 2022.

Ajax were beaten 2-1 and Onana didn't play for the club again before heading to Italy having opted to leave on a free transfer. Prior to the cup final Onana had been booed by his own supporters having made a mistake leading to goal.
