Barcelona 'want two Manchester United forwards' and other transfer rumours

La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United forwards Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial in the January transfer window.

Sancho currently faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford after being exiled from the first-team squad following a public falling out with Erik ten Hag. The winger claimed the boss' criticism of his training standards were 'untrue' and he had been made a 'scapegoat' at United in a now-deleted social media post.

Martial, meanwhile, remains a talent who has flattered to deceive at United. His place as the Reds' first-choice striker is currently under threat thanks to Rasmus Hojlund's arrival but the Frenchman did score an important goal against Crystal Palace this week to boost his confidence.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca boss Xavi is interested in both men and is expecting his club to be offered players in the winter who are out of favour with their current managers. This strategy worked for the Catalonians in the summer when they signed Manchester City's Joao Cancelo and Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix.

Due to their current financial situation, Barca are looking to think outside the box and reportedly this includes targeting the Reds' duo. Elsewhere, Calciomercato understands United are looking at a Juventus star to replace Sancho.

It is claimed United are interested in signing Federico Chiesa after he started the season well once again in Italy. The 25-year-old has four goals in six Serie A appearances to his name already this year.
