Manchester United 'handed Federico Chiesa transfer blow' and other rumours
Manchester United have reportedly been handed a blow in their hopes of signing Juventus winger Federico Chiesa in the January transfer window.
Last week, the Italian forward was linked with a move to Old Trafford as the situation with Jadon Sancho continued to drag on. United's 23-year-old has been exiled from the first team after a public falling out with Erik ten Hag over his training ground performances.
Chiesa was listed as an option for the Reds as the 25-year-old's contract in Italy is set to expire in 2025. Already, the international forward has scored four goals in seven matches and is one of Juve's star players.

However, according to GiveMeSport, hopes of signing Chiesa are slim as the Serie A giants are hoping to tie him down to a new deal. The report claims the winger is set for talks with the club next month and it is anticipated he will sign a contract which is more lucrative.
Elsewhere, United have been told they face competition from Real Madrid should they wish to sign reported target Antonio Silva. Benfica's 19-year-old centre-back has established himself as a key player in the Portuguese club's squad and has made eight appearances already this season.
Defensa Central claims both Real and United have been impressed with the defender's abilities and are hoping to add him to their ranks. Madrid's scouts have been seen watching Silva as he develops but Ten Hag is thought to be wanting a centre-back to add options to his squad.
