ITV Dancing on Ice fans already name winner after 'brilliant' performance

Dancing on Ice viewers have already thrown in their lot for one skating couple who they think will be winners of the series. Former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas gave a showstopping performance with professional Amani Fancy on Sunday night - with the pair finishing top of the leaderboard with 26.5 points from the Dancing On Ice judges.

Ryan and Amani delivered a complex routine, which included a pirouette and lift that Ryan struggled with during practice, to the backdrop of 'Sex on Fire' by Kings Of Leon.

Speaking after the routine judge Oti Mabuse said: “I did not expect that, (it) was absolutely brilliant.” And viewers watching at home were equally impressed with many already declaring him the winner.

One wrote: "Yes Ryan my winner already," while another said: "Ryan is gonna be the winner i think." A third said: "Winner!!!! That was brilliant Ryan." While a fourth also praised Ryan, saying: "Ryan seems like a potential finalist." While a fifth said: "Ryan Thomas is just fantastic already."

Ryan previously revealed his nerves about heading onto the Ice. Speaking to ITV about advice he received from his brother, he said: "He says it's going to be a nightmare! I mean, listen, he’s shown me hard work pays off and you come out of the other side stronger and more positive about yourself.

"As one brother finishes another has to start!”

He also spoke of his friend Chris Fountain, who played Tommy Duckworth on Corrie, who also appeared on Dancing on Ice in 2008. He said: "[Chris] set the bar high. I don't know if I'm being biased, but I think he's the best I've ever seen on the show.

"I’ve actually been going on the ice with Chris!
