‘It’s more difficult at Man City’ - Crystal Palace defender delivers putdown to Manchester United

Joachim Andersen has stuck a further boot in on Manchester United by saying playing at Old Trafford is much easier than facing Manchester City.

It's been a tough start to the season for United, despite Saturday's dramatic and uplifting comeback against Brentford. Erik ten Hag's side have already suffered four defeats and sit down in 10th in the Premier League, the only top-half side with a negative goal difference.

One of the most frustrating defeats came at home to Crystal Palace, a side they had beaten comfortably in the Carabao Cup just a few days beforehand. It was Andersen who got the only goal of the game with a thunderous strike into the top corner and past Andre Onana.

Now the centre-back has moved to put down United while discussing his match-winning strike. When asked by the Danish outlet Bold.BK if he'd seen his goal back, he replied: “Yes, I’ve seen it a few times. “Crystal Palace have also put it up on their site a few times, so it’s been hard to avoid.”

He then moved to make a further dig at United with an unfavourable comparison with local rivals City. “It’s a cool stadium with a cool atmosphere. I don’t know if it’s the best place. It’s just as cool to win elsewhere, because it’s three points we’re playing for, but it’s clear that United are a big team.

“However, I would say that it is more difficult against Manchester City, to be honest.”

There is hope that the morale-boosting win over Brentford will kick-start United's season after a tough start. United will return to action after the international break against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
