Is there extra time in the UEFA Super Cup? Everything you need to know as Man City face Sevilla

Manchester City will make their debut in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday thanks to their heroics back in June.

Rodri scored the all-important winning goal in Istanbul, curling home from just inside the box in the 68th minute. While City had tp rely on a tremendous Ederson save on the night, they managed to lift the Champions League for the very first time in Turkey.

The Blues' Champions League win also secured the Treble after they had already clinched the Premier League and FA Cup during a remarkable season. This feat has only ever been matched by fierce rivals Manchester United in England

Potentially lost in the celebrations a couple of months ago was the fact City qualified for the European Super Cup which pits the Champions League winners against the Europa League winners in an early-season encounter which takes place this week. MEN Sport has put together everything you need to know about the match.

The Super Cup final will take place on Wednesday, August 16 at 9pm CET and 8pm UK time.

Pep Guardiola's men will face Sevilla in the final after they won the Europa League a week prior to City's triumph. Jose Luis Mendilibar's side beat Jose Mourinho's AS Roma 4-1 on penalties to lift European football's second-tier trophy.

The Spanish team began their new campaign on Friday night with a 2-1 home loss to Valencia. Loic Bade was sent off for the hosts 10 minutes from time, with the visitors winning late on through Javi Guerra.

The final will be held at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens and is the home of Olympiakos. The stadium's capacity is just over 30,000.
