I'm A Celebrity's Sam Thompson's mum breaks down as she she's 'dread' after viewers defend star from 'disgusting' comment

Sam Thompson's mum broke down in tears after being given a video message from her son that he filmed before going out to Australia for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here. Karen appeared on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show on Wednesday morning (December 6), hours after viewers jumped to her son's defence.

During the latest instalment of jungle action on Tuesday night (December 5), JLS singer Marvin Humes was voted by the celebrities as the first person to take on the latest Bushtucker Trial after saying he was "up for doing it, 100%", before First Dates star Fred then said he was joining him - without any input from his fellow campmates.

Reality TV star and podcaster Sam shared his desire to take part, which Fred dismissed, saying the former Made In Chelsea star should leave him and Marvin to "do the men’s stuff" while they boys stayed and "played with toys". Later in the Bush Telegraph, Sam said: "I'm not going to argue about it. I don't have a backbone."

Marvin and Fred then headed to do the trial - winning five out of eight stars but Fred's comments to Sam didn't go down well with viewers who branded the remarks 'disgusting' and Fred 'rude'. Meanwhile, as Karen spoke to Fleur East and the team, they asked her how she thought her little boy – and their Hits Radio colleague - was getting on in the jungle.
