‘I know…’ - Sky Sports man claims Leeds a ‘fan’ of 26 y/o, Phillips had a chat with him in May
Former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Harry Winks would be a great addition at Elland Road under new boss Jesse Marsch as he fits their recruitment model.
Winks has become surplus to requirements in North London, only starting nine games under new boss Antonio Conte, leading the club to state they will listen to offers for the England international in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Speaking with MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “I know that Leeds will be a fan of Harry Winks from the recruitment side of things,
“It’ll be interesting to see how much input the manager will have on the recruitment because we know what a good job Victor Orta’s done over the years, we know the type of player that he’s brought in and he’s had a great relationship with Marcelo Bielsa.
“But Bielsa’s ways and methods towards the end of his regime didn’t work and the recruitment didn’t work because there was no recruitment in January. That had to change and it has changed so it’ll be interesting to see how the manager wants to go forward.
“There has to be a relationship between Orta and the manager in a recruitment sense, as there was previously with Bielsa. Harry Winks is an outstanding player who I’ve said for a long time will be a good fit at Leeds.
“But it depends on what Marsch wants and how he wants to play and what type of player he wants”.
