Sky Sports pundit claims another Leeds player's future now uncertain

Pundit Paul Robinson has claimed that the future of Ian Poveda is up in the air at Leeds United.

Poveda was sent on loan to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship at the start of the season, but he broke his ankle in November and has been recovering at Thorp Arch. Before his injury, Poveda played eight matches in the Championship whilst scoring once and assisting twice.

With the introduction of new boss Jesse Marsch at Leeds, he will not have had a chance to see him kick a ball in anger, so he may have to decide on his future by simply watching him in training.

Whilst the future is uncertain for Poveda, Robinson spoke to MOT Leeds News and highlighted that the American boss will have to make a decision in the summer regarding the talented youngster’s future.

Robinson said: “He’s an exciting young talent, he was brought from Manchester City but we’ve not seen much of him since he was loaned out this season.

“You don’t know what the previous manager’s plans were for him.

“He’s one of those ones whose future is really up in the air and without knowing what’s going on inside the current manager’s head, you don’t know.

“Poveda’s probably one of those players who’ll be brought back into the squad in pre-season for Marsch to look at and make a decision on once he’s seen him on the training ground.

“I think he’s got an opportunity to impress the manager, but his future is really up in the air.

“Poveda’s quick, he’s direct and he has an impact off the bench.”

TIF Thoughts on Paul Robinson’s comments…

So, it looks as if another player’s future is uncertain at Leeds, with Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips among those linked with moving on this summer.
