Hull City's Matt Ingram moving to Luton Town in emergency transfer ahead of Championship final week

Hull City goalkeeper Matt Ingram is joining Luton Town on an emergency loan for the Hatters' final two Championship games of the season, after the EFL granted permission for the play-off hopefuls to bring in cover after suffering injury issues between the sticks.

Hatters stopper James Shea picked up a serious knee injury at Cardiff City recently, with Harry Isted coming in to replace him, but despite being 25 years of age, he is not considered a senior stopper and therefore under EFL rules, the Hatters are allowed to sigh cover, and they've turned to Ingram. Aston Villa loanee Jed Steer is also out injured and the club were forced to make an emergency signing earlier this year.

Ingram has again lost his place in the Tigers side to Chelsea loanee Nathan Baxter in the last three games and will likely go straight into Luton's starting XI for Monday night's crunch clash at champions-elect Fulham, before a final day showdown with Reading at Kenilworth Road - Ingram could play a significant part in Luton's play-off campaign.

Three points at Craven Cottage would clinch their spot in the play-offs, meaning the City stopper could walk straight into two play-off semi-final campaign if the deal , as expected, is extended beyond the initial week which has been agreed, Hull Live understands.

His immediate departure, albeit for the short-term initially, will see Harvey Cartwright promoted to be City's reserve goalkeeper this weekend behind Baxter for their final home game of the season.
