Huddersfield Town offer positive injury update ahead of QPR and Middlesbrough

Huddersfield Town have no new injury issues to deal with ahead of facing Queens Park Rangers on Friday afternoon, with a trip to Middlesbrough to follow in Monday’s lunchtime kick-off. Carlos Corberan revealed at his pre-QPR press conference that his side got through the 2-0 win over Luton Town unscathed, leaving him with the same players available to choose from.

Chelsea loanee Tino Anjorin was left out of the matchday squad for the victory over the Hatters but had not suffered any new injury and trained as normal earlier that day. The attacking midfielder may therefore be an option for Corberan over the Easter weekend.

Matty Pearson was ruled out with a knee injury last week, potentially till the end of the season – though Corberan remains hopeful the centre-back may be able to return ahead of schedule to play some part again before the end of the campaign.

Even with Pearson absent, Corberan has numerous options to choose from in every position and has not named an unchanged side since November – though he did pick the same starting lineup for the two Championship games either side of Town’s FA Cup win over Barnsley in February.

Town welcomed four players back to the starting lineup against Luton Town on Monday evening as Jonathan Hogg and Danny Ward both returned from illness, while Pipa and Danel Sinani were preferred over Ollie Turton and Duane Holmes.

Besides Pearson, their other long-term first-team absentees are winger Rolando Aarons (knee), goalkeeper Ryan Schofield (shoulder) and midfielder Alex Vallejo (knee), all of whom are likely to miss the rest of the season.
