Knee specialist gives Huddersfield Town's Sorba Thomas play-off hope in full injury update

Huddersfield Town will miss Sorba Thomas for their remaining regular league games but are holding out hope that he can return in time for a play-off campaign. The winger suffered an injury to a bone near his knee during the first half of the Terriers’ 0-2 win over Middlesbrough earlier this month after colliding with an opponent.

That injury forced Thomas off at the break at the Riverside and he subsequently missed the 2-1 win over Barnsley last Friday. Speaking at his pre-match press conference for Saturday’s 3pm kick off away to Coventry City, head coach Carlos Corberan revealed that Thomas will definitely not be fit to play a part in that game or the final day visit from Bristol City.

However, a consultation with a knee specialist has left the door open for Thomas to push to try and return in time for the play-offs, which will get under way over the weekend of 14th May and conclude on 29th May. However, it is still much too early to say whether the centre-back will recover in time for the play-offs.

Norwich City loanee Danel Sinani has been ruled out of the Coventry game after departing at the break against Barnsley with an adductor injury. Corberan is hopeful that Sinani will be able to come back for the Bristol City game next week.
