How Leicester City players have reacted to 'harsh lessons' ahead of Arsenal clash

Brendan Rodgers has said that the Leicester City squad have had some "harsh lessons" in game management this season, leading to the continued development of the team.

City are currently on a run of four wins in a row in all competitions, keeping clean sheets in all of their last three games.

All three games have seen City take a one-goal lead into the closing stages, seeing out the victory against Leeds, while they got late goals to seal the wins over Burnley and Rennes.

Seeing out games in the final minutes had not been something that City had been too successful at earlier in the season.

But Rodgers said that the improvement shows how the team is developing, with an observation from the Rennes camp highlighting the point.

“That’s a part of how we’re evolving as a team, it was interesting speaking to one of the French guys last night (Thursday), they felt we looked much stronger than Rennes, and our game experience after the game really showed,” he said in his press conference ahead of Arsenal.

“That was interesting because we’ve got a lot of young players so from a different perspective that was good to hear that, people who don’t maybe watch us as much, then see us play and how we manage the game tells me that we’re developing.

“And this is something that with young players we’ll continue to look to do, that side of it is so important, whatever the scoreline you can never be complacent.

“We’ve had some harsh lessons this year, at times we’ve given away some late goals but you can take it as long as if you lose a game or you don’t win a game that you should, you go away and learn and you win later on.
