Hibs defender joins Airdrie ahead of Raith Rovers clash
Airdrieonians have signed defender Kanayo Megwa on loan from Hibernian.
The 19-year-old Englisham has joined on a deal until the end of the season, as he links up with fellow Easter Road loanees Murray Aiken and Josh O’Connor at New Broomfield.
Megwa spent a spell on loan at Kelty Hearts in League One last season and he also had spells in the English Championship with West Brom and Watford.
Diamonds player-boss Rhys McCabe told the club website: “Kanayo has been in and around the Hibs first-team and has already made his debut.
“He’s defensively very strong, and excels in one v one situations.
“He’s extremely comfortable in a few different positions, so his versatility will be an asset. We’re delighted to get him in.”
Megwa, who can play at right full-back or centre-back, could make his debut in Saturday's Championship clash at home to Raith Rovers.
