Greater Manchester burger bar lands spot in National Burger Awards finals

Salford-born dining concept That Burger Place has bagged itself a place in the finals of the National Burger Awards. It is the second time the cult burger spot has been nominated for the award after its California Dreaming creation was listed as one of the top burgers in the country in 2022.

Now chef-patron Ryan McDermott and his co-founder wife Megan will go up against 15 other finalists in a live cook-off taking place in London next month. Chefs from all the finalists eateries will head to Big Penny Social where their burgers will also be judged by an industry panel.

That Burger Place will go up against the likes of Bleecker, which was named Time Out's Best Burger in London 2023, as well as Black Bear Burger and Mollie’s Motel & Diner. The 2024 event marks the events 10th anniversary and will see chefs across the hospitality industry battle it out for the best burger crown.
