Greater Manchester teenager charged after counter-terrorism police investigation
An 18-year-old man from Bury has been charged with a series of offences as part of an ongoing investigation led by Counter Terrorism Policing North West, Greater Manchester Police has revealed.
Muhammad Zakir Arif, of Harrington Close, Bury, was appearing before magistrates in London today, Wednesday, GMP added in a statement. The force said he's been charged with six offences in total.

They are one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm; one count of strangulation or suffocation; two counts of possession of a bladed article in a public place and two counts of breaching a Section 49 RIPA Court Order.
Section 49 of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) allows notices to be served to compel the disclosure of passwords to access electronic devices.
In the statement, GMP said he had been remanded in custudy. The force said: "He has been remanded to appear before Westminster Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 14 February 2024."
No further details have been revealed.
