Gillingham manager Gareth Ainsworth wants two more signings before the summer transfer window closes
Gillingham boss Gareth Ainsworth wants two more players to bolster his squad.
The Gills are looking light in defence with Conor Masterson and Shad Ogie both missing the 1-1 draw at Tranmere last weekend.
"Shad hopefully won't be too long," said Ainsworth. "But Conor's probably a bit longer, which is a worry.
"We may have to go into the market for a couple more players, which I’ll speak to Brad and Shannon (Galinson) about and the recruitment guys.
"Hopefully, we can bolster the ranks because I do like a small squad, but when you lose some long-term, it's tough."
While the Gills are looking light in defensive numbers, Ainsworth confirmed that he is aiming at other areas as well.
"I'll look at the whole squad," he added. "I believe that there's some additions to be made in some key positions, which will bolster us.
"I'm not going to say it on the media, but I'm hoping, as I always said, one to add. There's probably going to be two to add now.
"That's going to be really important, the right players to come in."
