Four Sheffield Wednesday forward options Darren Moore could look to recruit following Saido Berahino's recent exit

Despite eventual heartbreak for Sheffield Wednesday come the end of the 21/22 campaign, Owls boss Darren Moore can be proud of the feat achieved by his players heading into the summer months.

With a more streamlined squad once again the obvious outcome, new recruits will be targeted as Moore must look to re-galvanise his squad ready for another strong push towards returning Wednesday to the second tier next season.

Departing Saido Berahino will be a player that has frustrated most during the course of campaign, finding the net just eight times. The former Stoke City man was of course recently named amongst players who will not return to Hillsborough beyond this summer too.

Here at YorkshireLive , we have identified four possible names the Owls could look to recruit on a free transfer, given Wednesday's relative tight budget once more...

Despite spending most of the 21/22 season with QPR, there could perhaps be a deal to be agreed here with former Watford man Andre Gray. Finding the net 10 times in 28 appearances for the R's, the 30-year-old is still capable of stand out moments despite not perhaps having the pace that once presented itself.

Available on a free this summer, the striker stands at 5ft 10 and has represented Jamaica at international level too. Eyeing a return to the Championship, a short term deal could be something to suits all parties.

At 34, former Huddersfield Town man Frazier Campbell is available on a free transfer too, with the link being he is familiar with the area and could look to relocate close by.

Enjoying a strong career as a EFL forward, Campbell has also enjoyed spells at Hull City and Cardiff City, with his know how of knowing where the net is a key trait Moore could look into.
