Four fire engines scrambled and road taped off after blaze at flat

Fire crews were scrambled to a blaze at a ground-floor flat in Manchester this morning.

Crews were called to the scene on Schuster Road in the Victoria Park area just after 11.30am. Four fire engines responded and used hoses and water jets to extinguish the blaze.

Pictures showed a stretch of the street taped off with emergency vehicles on the scene. Firefighters were on the scene for around 40 minutes, a spokesperson for the fire service said.
