Former Rangers midfielder out until Christmas after East Kilbride ace suffers fracture in Linlithgow Rose clash
East Kilbride boss Mick Kennedy has revealed midfielder Callum Biggar will be out of action until at least Christmas after breaking his collarbone in last week’s Lowland League draw at Linlithgow Rose.
The 20-year-old summer signing was forced off after just 10 minutes, following a heavy collision with a Rose player during last Tuesday’s 2-2 draw.
And an X-ray revealed the former Rangers and Queen’s Park youth has suffered a fracture which will keep him out of action for more than three months.
League leaders Kilby are already struggling with a host of injuries, with captain Liam Brown set to go under the knife soon to resolve a groin issue, and Kennedy said: “It has been difficult for us over the last 10 days.
“Callum Biggar has broken his collarbone and Liam Brown is about to go in for an operation on his groin.
“I don’t think Callum will play any football this side of Christmas. We will need to wait and see but he won’t be back any time soon.
“Liam isn’t particularly long. It isn’t a complicated operation, he just needs to get a date to go in and I imagine he will be out for about three weeks after it.
“It’s a wee bit of keyhole surgery to tidy up his groin.
“Calvin McGrory has been out injured with a hamstring issue and there’s others struggling, but we will just need to navigate our way through it.”
With players dropping like flies, Kennedy has been in the market for reinforcements.
Last week he missed out on Queen of the South’s Euan East and the club failed in a cheeky bid to lure ex-Rangers striker Robbie Ure to the club, before he chose a move to Belgium instead with Anderlecht’s youth team.
And Kennedy revealed another [Darren Lyons] got away as he continues his search to strengthen.
He added: “We tried to do
