Former Manchester United striker points out Jadon Sancho change during pre-season tour

Andy Cole believes Jadon Sancho is playing with a confidence that could help him finally make his mark at Manchester United.

Sancho suffered a drop in confidence last season and took some time away from football and social media. Upon his return, the 23-year-old showed glimpses of his former self, though there is still plenty more to come.

During the tour of the US, Sancho has managed to impress and was able to bag himself a goal against Arsenal. The ex-Borussia Dortmund man started against his old club in Las Vegas.

Ahead of kick-off at the Allegiant Stadium, Cole told MUTV he had seen positive changes from Sancho during the tour. He explained: "I think watching Jadon this pre-season, I can say he is starting to get back to his old self once again.

"I think the goal he got against Arsenal built his confidence and, for me, in this pre-season it is starting to look like he has that confidence and ultimately football is about confidence. We can talk about all these other factors but once you cross the white line it is about confidence in your own ability, not about what someone has said about you and it is looking like he is coming into that [mindset]."

The transfer window is in full swing and United have already got their hands on two players, with Mason Mount and Andre Onana through the door at Old Trafford and Rasmus Hojlund set to follow.
