Sunderland Echo journalist James Copley has relayed what he saw from the live TV coverage of The FA Cup on ITV (06/02/22), with the Irishman reacting to a question amid speculation that he could be on his way to the club.

He Tweeted: “Roy Keane asked on ITV if he’s going to have a busy week. “No comment.” Accompanied by another big smile…”

Fans will surely love this reaction from Keane for several reasons. Firstly, it builds further excitement as his smiling could well hint that talks are progressing behind the scenes, with the ex-Manchester United midfielder refusing to deny any speculation linking him with the job.

They will also love his buoyant reaction as it suggests that he is also excited by the prospect of taking over at the Stadium of Light.
