Roy Keane’s hilarious dig at Jamie Carragher and Liverpool on The Overlap
Roy Keane provided plenty of comedy in front of a live audience at the Manchester Apollo for the latest episode of The Overlap.
The Manchester United legend had the 2,700-strong crowd in stitches at various points, including after one particularly funny dig at Jamie Carragher and Liverpool.
The audience were shown a clip of Keane and Carragher’s heated row over Cristiano Ronaldo back in November.
“Brilliant,” Keane said. “Obviously Jamie was wrong. It is about winning cups for United at the moment.”
Carragher replied: “You told me Man United had signed Ronaldo to win the FA Cup. That went f***ing well, didn’t it?”
Keane said: “[United] are still in the Champions League. You never know…”
When Carragher burst out laughing, Keane had the perfect response: “We’ve seen a lot worse teams than Man United win the Champions League…”
The Irishman, with perfect comic timing, then turned and stared at Carragher, who was left cracking up along with the audience.
The crowd responded by chanting: “Keano! Keano!”
