Erik ten Hag has been told what Randal Kolo Muani would offer Manchester United

Now that Manchester United have strengthened the goalkeeping department with the impending arrival of Andre Onana, the club can proceed with the priority position which needed to be filled heading into the summer.

United have added Mason Mount to their midfield ranks from Chelsea and Onana is set to be confirmed in due course from Inter Milan after a transfer was agreed between the two clubs. Now, all focus turns to bringing in a new centre forward.

It is the area of the pitch where United have needed reinforcements for some time. Cristiano Ronaldo's departure in the middle of last season, coupled with Marcus Rashford scoring 30 goals but no other player getting near him helped to underline this need even more.

Wout Weghorst arrived on loan from Burnley in January for the second half of the season. It was ultimately a transfer to fill a gap which emerged in the squad and only yielded two goals, neither of them in the Premier League.

Several names have emerged as potential void-fillers. Tottenham Hotspur and England captain Harry Kane, as well as Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen were players towards the top of the list.

However, both clubs are reluctant to sell their prized assets and would command a huge fee for either player. Given United's limited transfer budget this summer, other possibilities are being looked at.

Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund is another target who United could turn to. But like with Kane and Osimhen, finances could prove to be a stumbling block as the Italian side seek the maximum returns for a striker
