David Prutton issues score prediction for Birmingham City’s clash v Luton Town

Luton Town are now just one point outside the play-off positions, with Nathan Jones’ side in excellent form at present.

The Hatters have picked up 20 points from their last nine games, in what has been a fairly difficult period of fixtures on paper.

Not only will their proximity to the top-six spur them on for Saturday’s clash at Birmingham, but Luton were beaten 5-0 by the Blues back in August.

Birmingham seem confined to mid-table mediocrity this season, and despite sitting in 18th, they are as many points from the relegation zone as they are the play-offs.

The Blues are winless in the Championship in their last four games and will be hoping to correct their form when the Hatters visit tomorrow.

Issuing his score prediction via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes Luton will nick this 1-0.

The verdict

Luton will be extremely motivated to secure all three points after their disappointing display against the Blues earlier in the season, and the fact that they are competing for the play-offs.

However, Birmingham is not an easy place to go, and with Luton losing every game they have played in front of fans against the Blues, since returning to the Championship, it is likely to be another tough test.

It would be no surprise to see a draw played out tomorrow, but a 1-0 Luton victory is equally as likely.

Despite their push for the play-offs, there still does not appear to be much pressure on the Hatters, with Luton fans enjoying the ride.
