EFL pundit shares score prediction as Birmingham City prepare for Huddersfield Town clash
Birmingham City will be looking to improve their record against the Championship’s top clubs when they host Huddersfield Town tomorrow.
Sitting in 18th place in the second-tier standings it has been a fair underwhelming campaign for the Blues, although, their January additions have been a reason for positivity.
Birmingham have won just one home game against teams in the top half of the table, and that came in the form of a 3-0 victory against Luton Town in their last game at St Andrew’s.
Extending their unbeaten record to 14 Championship games, Huddersfield now sit in fourth place.
The Terriers’ excellent form means that they could be eyeing up an automatic promotion spot, with the gap to Bournemouth cut to just two points, however, the Cherries do possess four games in hand.
Issuing his score prediction via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes that the visitors will continue their excellent recent form and emerge as 2-1 winners.
The verdict
The likes of Onel Hernandez, Lyle Taylor and Juninho Bacuna have certainly caught the eye during the early stages of the time with the Blues.
Tahith Chong is also closing on a return to first-team action, and whilst there is a little uncertainty as to when he might be chucked back into the squad.
The Terriers are in a very good place right now, however, the chasing pack are seemingly keeping us, placing importance on keeping this brilliant record up.
Putting in a near-perfect performance against Fulham, before showing the grit and desire required against Cardiff City during the week, the Terrier shave shown that they can win in different ways.
A 2-1 Huddersfield win does seem like a good call.
