Sky Sports pundit makes 'strange' comment ahead of Birmingham City vs Reading

Birmingham City will be looking to return to winning ways when they face Reading at the Madejski Stadium this evening (8pm).

Blues shared the spoils with Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium in their last outing, after Gary Gardner scored the equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

But Lee Bowyer and Co are aware they will not have an easy task ahead of them after the Royals secured their first win since November against Preston North End at Deepdale.

Sitting just five points away from the drop zone, interim manager Paul Ince will oversee his first game in charge after Veljko Paunovic was relieved of his duties.

Ahead of the tonight's game, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has delivered his prediction.

"What a strange week for Reading," Prutton wrote in his Sky Sports column.

"Finally some results to give themselves a bit of breathing room, and then the departure of Veljko Paunovic and the, albeit temporary, arrival of Paul Ince. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on how things unfold there in the next couple of weeks!

"Birmingham got a decent point at Stoke at the weekend. Their league position looks worse than it is right now, and they'll be fine this season with a chance to build for next.

"I just have a feeling that Reading will nick this one."
