Darren Moore sent timely Sheffield Wednesday selection dilemma after U23s spirited display

Strength in depth will be vital for Sheffield Wednesday as they enter the business end of the campaign. There will be squad rotation in the final eight matches.

And after disappointing draws with Accrington Stanley and Gillingham, it is highly likely Darren Moore will freshen up his starting XI when they return to action against Cheltenham Town on Saturday. An instant response is required if the Owls are to secure a play-off spot.

Wednesday remain in decent shape going into the final stretch but they have to find a way to beat teams such as Stanley and Gillingham who sit in, put men behind the ball and play on the counter attack. They have to show more creativity, composure and patience in the final third against compact teams.

Dele-Bashiru was part of a strong second-string side, featuring Joe Wildsmith, Jaden Brown, Florian Kamberi, and he produced an eye-catching display, particularly in the first half, as the Owls lost to in-form Ipswich Town. His energy and trademark runs from deep gave the Tractors Boys plenty to think about and he looked the player most likely to prise open the visitors defence. Sometimes Dele-Bashiru's decision-making in the final can let him down but he used the ball well.
