Bolton's Ian Evatt on Darren Moore's 'difficult' Sheffield Wednesday job & Owls expectations claim

Ian Evatt believes Sheffield Wednesday counterpart Darren Moore has 'double or triple' the expectations that he has at Bolton Wanderers but has done well in a difficult job at Hillsborough.

Moore was appointed as Owls boss in March 2021 and was unable to prevent their relegation out of the Championship and into League One.

He has since taken Wednesday into the play-offs and they are one of the form teams in League One at the moment, sitting fifth as things stand.

Bolton have five games of their campaign left to go and are seeking to finish as high up the League One table as possible since the midweek draw versus Portsmouth realistically put an end to their play-offs aspirations.

Moore's side meanwhile are in the top six as things stand and will be seeking to solidify their place with a positive result this weekend.

Bolton boss Evatt believes Wednesday counterpart Moore has rode our periods of pressure this season 'more than most' at Hillsborough.

Living in nearby Chesterfield, Evatt hears a lot of the press in the Steel City and believes that the expectations at Hillsborough are 'double or triple' the high ones which are in place at Wanderers.

The Bolton boss believes however that Moore has don well in a 'difficult' job, but Evatt believes his side have been in good form since January is looking forward to the encounter in front of a big crowd at the University of Bolton Stadium as he seeks progress for the following campaign.

Evatt told the Manchester Evening News: "Thankfully he has been given time because during the season, everybody goes through bad spells and good spells.
