Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney teases Cassie's move to settle down in Weatherfield amid mum reveal to Tyrone

Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has teased Cassie Plummer's move that could see her settle down in Weatherfield as she reveals herself as Tyrone Dobbs' mum. The actress first appeared in the ITV soap back in June when she tracked her mother, Evelyn, down.

Tyrone grew up believing that his mum was Jackie Dobbs, played by Margi Clarke. But in 2018 investigations into his parentage brought him into contact with grandmother Evelyn, portrayed by Dame Maureen Lipman, for the first time who told him that her daughter, his biological mother is dead.

In Claire's first scenes as Cassie, the character tracked down her mum to the street but when Evelyn spotted her, she ignored her. But later, Evelyn received a call and was seen hurrying into A&E reception, explaining that her daughter has been admitted as an emergency after she overdosed.

The pair then entered into an emotional confrontation as Cassie revealed she knows that she was living with Tyrone and had been keeping him from her for all these years. And things reached a heart-breaking climax when Evelyn emotionally confessed that Tyrone thinks his mum is dead.

Eventually, in a bid to help her daughter, Evelyn packed her bags and took Cassie away from the street in the hope of getting her sober. They've not been seen on screen for weeks but on Wednesday night (August 16), Cassie was back in Weatherfield after picking up a message from Tyrone on her mum's phone.

And after heading to the Bistro where Tyrone said he'd be watching Hope and Ruby in their Little Big Shotz show, Cassie got talking to Tyrone and just as a breathless Evelyn hurried in to stop her, she revealed to Tyrone
