Coronation Street star told 'good on you' after frank post praised for 'being real'

Instagram is often criticised for showing a falsely positive, curated version of real life, and Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon's feed looks at first to be no exception. But the star, who plays Maria Connor, didn't have the best time of it on her holiday.

And the 41-year-old mum-of-one wants everyone to know she's revealing what life can be like, warts and all. In a series of stunning pictures on a new post on Wednesday (August 30), Samia was shown in a fashionable black bikini and overshirt in the sun and in a speedboat with her partner Sylvian Longchambon.

Other photographs feature son Yves, 8, looking over the sparkling sea, mouthwatering meals and crystal clear pools. But the photographs are only part of the story, Samia says.

Samia's post reads: "Our holiday in Mallorca consisted of.. flight delays (there and back), stolen bank card, a tornado, and i had a bit of a bug for the first few days. BUT

"We managed to get there and back safely, I got my stolen money back from my bank, we stayed safe in the storm and we got to spend time in the sun, see friends and eat lovely food.. #yinandyang Home now and there’s no place I’d rather be!"

After detailing what most of us would describe as a pretty horrendous trip, she's come back with a very serene attitude, adding: "I know I could’ve just put some caption about holidays been amazing (which they are obviously), but I feel like we get enough of people ‘living their best lives’ on here without showing the reality sometimes..

"Hope you’ve all had a lovely summer break and to those people affected by the flight delays… I feel you! #homesweethome #summer23"
