Coronation Street fans think much-loved character is 'up to something' after heartfelt scenes

Coronation Street fans fear Audrey Roberts could have had a hidden motive as she had a heart-to-heart with Peter Barlow. The much-loved ITV soap character has been determined for justice after her son Stephen Reid was killed by Peter.

Despite his crimes, Audrey has been struggling with her loss and was clear that she wanted Peter to pay after he mowed Stephen down to his death. Moments before, Stephen had threatened his partner Jenny Connor in the middle of the street as the net closed in on his misdemeanours and his escape plan.

During Monday night's trip to the cobbles (October 30), Peter was seen heading into the Kabin to buy some chewing gum ahead of his alcoholism meeting and was soon sharing a few laughs with Brian Packham. But this was cut short by Audrey's arrival in the corner shop.

While Peter tried to excuse himself, Audrey was quick to tell him to stay and enjoy his freedom while it lasts as he'll soon be behind bars. But the exchange left Peter snapping that the police knew everything about what Stephen had said to Jenny Connor about not wanting to hurt her, and had still decided to drop the case against him.

He then offered her an apology before leaving the shop and Audrey was devastated. But after she spoke to his dad Ken, later, Audrey paid Peter a visit and the pair had a chat as they made amends, apologising to one another for what had happened.
