Coronation Street fans spot big hole in Kevin Webster 'Dad' comment

Coronation Street fans accused a character in one of the soap's biggest current storylines of having a short memory after Kevin Webster was described as 'more like a Dad.' In Wednesday's episode (August 23), Tyrone Dobbs introduces mum Cassie to Kevin and Abi and explains that Abi is a recovering drug addict too.

But this leaves Cassie furious and Tyrone defends Kevin, saying he 'is more like a Dad.' Fans were quick to point out on Twitter that there has been history between Tyrone and Kevin. @MattMurkyfuture tweeted: "Kev’s like a dad. Oh did your dad sleep with your wife too." While @RogerCrow said: "Tyrone: “Kevin’s more like a dad”… who ran off with my wife and got her pregnant."

However there could be even more to Kevin's awkward introduction to Cassie, which may put Kevin's 'Dad' comments into perspective, according to fans. Earlier this week Corrie viewers said they thought they had "rumbled" Tyrone's biological dad after a "cryptic clue" on Friday's episode.

Soap watchers will recall that only recently, Tyrone's life was turned upside down after Cassie revealed that she was his mum, claiming she doesn't know who his father is. But on Friday's episode, Kevin was left stunned after having a chance meeting with Cassie, as he said: "Is that your mum?" to which Tyrone replied: "Yeah". Kevin continued to stare at Cassie and fans noticed that it appeared he had seen a blast from his past.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "Kevin looked like he knew Cassie, Tyrone's dad? #Corrie", a different account put: "Kevin is Tyrone’s dad #Corrie" with shocked emojis, another follower wrote: "Is Kevin Tyrone's dad? #corrie",
