Manchester United have reassured Rasmus Hojlund so far this season
Even the most optimistic Manchester United fan will have struggled to raise a smile from the opening two matches of the Premier League season.
Opening weekend victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers was a tough watch with United struggling to break down a team in turmoil. The visitors were even unlucky not to come away with a point due to Andre Onana making several good saves and could have been punished for his late challenge on Sasa Kalajdzic in the box.
Last weekend, the Reds' luck officially ran out. Despite having some of the best moments during the game, United fell to a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham.
In the days that have followed, we have seen a growing concern about the pressure which Rasmus Hojlund may now find himself under. Having joined from Atalanta this summer, the Dane has yet to feature for the Reds due to injury.

Instead, he has had to watch on from the stands as pundits and fans alike lamented the lack of a No.9 in the squad. Marcus Rashford has filled in the centre-forward role during the opening two matches but it is clear the position is not his strength.
Therefore, the hope of Hojlund's return to full-match fitness has grown. Fortunately, there is a ray of optimism which can be gleaned once we take a look at the statistics from the opening fixtures.
According to statistician Statman Dave, United have created a whopping 32 chances over the course of two matches. Only Brighton and Hove Albion, who thrashed both Luton Town and Wolves managed to create more.
This statistic should create optimism, particularly for Hojlund. Clearly the problem does not revolve around United's creativity, rather their lack of a cutting-edge up top.
