Connor Goldson’s Rangers career ends with 5 suitcases as Glasgow flight to trigger transfer incomings

Defender Connor Goldson looks to be jetting out to seal a move away from Rangers - but mystery still surrounds the destination for the star.

Philippe Clement revealed the centre-back missed the midweek friendly against Birmingham City due to a "concrete offer" being received for the Ibrox stalwart. While reports had been swirling over a switch to Aris Limassol from the Scottish Premiership, a fresh theory has been floated after the 31-year-old was spotted at Glasgow Airport.

The centre-back was spotted with five suitcases as he inches closer to ending his six-year stint at Rangers - and follow a host of experienced first-team stars out of the door like John Lundstram, Borna Barisic and Kemar Roofe. Boss Clement has looked to clear the decks at Ibrox to free up cash for his recruitment drive - with the exit of the £37k-a-week star set to allow wages to be spent elsewhere.

While a move to Cyprus could still be on the cards, eagle-eyed fans claim that Goldson was flying out to Amsterdam - and speculated that could mean a connecting flight to Saudi Arabia. Record Sport revealed in April that he was on Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq shopping list, with Gerrard the man who took him to Ibrox in 2018.
