Chris Sutton flips Rangers blame game as Celtic hero tells them what's REALLY astonishing after SFA blast

Chris Sutton reckons Rangers should play the blame game with their own players rather than Willie Collum and has told them what's REALLY astonishing after their SFA blast.

The Ibrox club released a statement hitting out at the SFA for delaying releasing the audio of the VAR process that led Collum to not award them a penalty for an Alistair Johnston handball in Saturday's Old Firm defeat. Abdallah SIma was offside in the build up, although former Scottish ref Bobby Madden has since claimed that because the match wasn't restarted with a free-kick for that offence, then it meant Collum had concluded that no penalty should have been awarded regardless.

A still image of Sima's offside was sent to Sky Sports to show during the second half by the governing body. Rangers have 'concerns over the motivation" for this, and are "astonished" that Collum apparently would have ruled that no penalty should be given had Sima been onside.

But Sutton has slapped down the Govan gripes, pointing out that other clubs will be just as perplexed at a lack of spot kicks conceded by the Gers in the last two years. And he insists the blame for Saturday lies at the misfiring feet of Cyriel Dessers and posted missing Todd Cantwell, rather than the man in VAR room.

"There was a big contentious issues in that Rangers were not awarded a penalty.," he told the Mail's It's All Kicking Off podcast. "Rangers are complaining to the SFA, they want the VAR audio from Willie Collum, who was on VAR with Nick Walsh refereeing. They want the audio of the conversation.

"But the way they've actually gone about this, I'm surprised myself. There may be other clubs out there who are similarly astonished and similarly concerned at the non award of penalties against
