Chelsea: £60m star has 'agreed personal terms' over Stamford Bridge move

Chelsea target Anthony Gordon has ‘agreed personal terms’ with the club ahead of a potential move, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel has been handed more responsibility in the transfer market by new owner Todd Boehly and has identified the versatile 21-year-old as a ‘top target’.

The Athletic have reported that Gordon has informed Everton boss Frank Lampard that he wishes to depart his boyhood club and sign for Chelsea ahead of September’s deadline.

It’s claimed that the winger wants to play Champions League football and feels he has a better chance of breaking into England’s World Cup squad if he is plying his trade at Stamford Bridge.

Everton are also said to ‘be aware’ that Chelsea are willing to pay £60 million to secure Gordon’s signature, with £10m of that figure coming via potential add-ons.

The Toffees have also received offers from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United for the England Under-21 international this summer yet remain in a strong position when it comes to the negotiations.

And that’s because Gordon still has three years remaining on his current £10,000-per-week contract while the offer of a new deal remains table from Everton.

Phillips doesn’t believe Gordon is going to ‘do anything to push’ his move to Stamford Bridge, though, unlike fellow Chelsea target Wesley Fofana who skipped a training session at Leicester City.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “Gordon himself has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, and he wants to move obviously; that’s quite common knowledge now.

“He’s not going to do anything to push it. I don’t think he’s going to go Wesley Fofana levels on it.”
