Celtic transfer state of play on O'Riley, Schmeichel and Sinisalo as Michel-Ange Balikwisha price tag revealed

Celtic are hot on the trail of Belgian winger Michel-Ange Balikwisha – while Italian giants Juventus have stepped up the fight to land Parkhead playmaker Matt O’Riley.

Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers is expected to have TWO new goalkeepers on board in coming days with new main man Kasper Schmeichel poised to undergo a medical in Italy today before jetting out to join up with the squad on their United States tour on Thursday. And Aston Villa prospect Viljami Sinisalo could join him in Glasgow with the Finland international set to be Schmeichel’s main back up and eventually No.1 contender.

The Celtic squad will head out to Washington on Tuesday ahead of Saturday’s friendly encounter against DC United in the capital, with clashes against Manchester City and Chelsea up next week. Rodgers is determined to bolster his group but has admitted the club have had to be patient in the chase for their top targets.

Celts are in the frame for highly-rated Antwerp ace Balikwisha with more talks planned following an initial enquiry. The 23-year-old attacker is being chased by several clubs across the continent, including sides in France, and could cost more than £6m.
