Celtic transfer bulletin as Hakon Valdimarsson deal lands coy response while Lawrence Shankland 'spoken about'

Director of football Stefan Andreasson has conceded a move for Elfsborg number one Hakon Valdimarsson could take place this month amid interest from Celtic.

Record Sport understands the club are closely looking at the goalkeeping situation as the Scottish Premiership leaders seek to provide competition for Joe Hart for the remainder of the campaign. The 36-year-old is out of contract at Parkhead this summer and with his future up in the air Brendan Rodgers looks to be assessing his options, with reports that Iceland number one Valdimarsson is on the radar.

Aston Villa and FC Copenhagen have also reportedly expressed an interest - but the Swedish side are said to be keen on keeping the 22-year-old at the club until the summer. However, club chief Andreasson left the door open for a bidding war before the end of the month. Asked about the future of the goalkeeper by Fotbollskanalen he said: "I think we have to live with this speculation until the end of January. Right now we are not in negotiations with any club about Hakon."

Celtic are also looking to strengthen their frontline - and Lawrence Shankand will be consider. That is according to pundit Stephen McGinn who reckons that the Scottish Premiership leaders could still make a move for the Hearts captain this summer.
