Celtic told Matt O'Riley isn't transfer priority by Jury as Cyriel Dessers earns unanimous Rangers future verdict

Keith Jackson: Keeping hold of Matt O’Riley would be a great start. If that can’t be done Rodgers needs to be smart in finding a replacement. He also needs to recruit a top quality centre back, competition at left back, at least one striker and maybe yet another winger.

Andrew Newport: A proper centre back to partner CCV. Liam Scales did a decent job last year as the Hoops held onto their title but an upgrade is needed if they’re to take on the Euro elite. A new left back should be a priority too.

Fraser Wilson: Another striker is the priority. The thought of Kyogo getting injured early in the season must give Hoops fans the fear. Nobody can go into a season with one recognised striker and if it’s not to be Adam Idah then Celtic need to move onto other targets quickly.

Keith Jackson: Don’t be silly. There’s a great deal to admire about the desire of Dessers to be the main man but, try as he might, the quality is just not there. Rangers need a clinical marksman and they might find him waiting for them at Tynecastle on Saturday.

Andrew Newport: No. He took his goals superbly but given all we saw last season, there’s no way Philippe Clement can be certain he’ll do the same at Tynecastle next weekend. Danilo will take over once he returns to fitness but Gers could still do with another No. 9 option.

Fraser Wilson: No. there’s no point hoping last season’s failed squad can suddenly improve to a point where they can outgun a formidable looking Celtic. Rangers need a number nine they can hang their hat on.

Keith Jackson: Big things. Thelin has got the pulses racing again in the North East ahead of the big kick-off and that bodes well for what is to come. Aberdeen will be back in the mix this season and a third place finish
