Brendan Rodges' honest Leicester City admission as Youri Tielemans transfer struggle emerges

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has admitted it will be too difficult for his side to qualify for Europe via the Premier League after his side's 1-1 draw with Everton.

City conceded a 92nd-minute equaliser from Richarlison after dominating much of the game at Goodison Park. The game to seventh-placed West Ham sits at 11 points, with City having just seven games left of their season.

While the Europa Conference League is ultimately the most important goal for Leicester this term, Rodgers is under no illusions that the Premier League is still important and must be taken seriously.

"It probably will be," Rodgers said when asked if it is now too difficult to qualify for Europe through the league.

"But if we can finish in the top half of the table and get to the final of the (European) competition we're in, that'll be a really good season for us, in terms of the position we've been in with injuries. We look to the next game and we'll see where we finish."

Leicester City were dealt the ultimate sucker-punch as they let a 1-0 lead slip in stoppage time at Goodison Park.
