Brendan Rodgers gives Celtic youngster Mitchel Frame chance to shine in pre-season
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has given youngster Mitchel Frame the chance to impress in Portugal, as the 17-year-old is one of the younger players in the Hoops travelling squad.
The Premiership champions are currently preparing for the season ahead at a camp in Portugal. Rodgers has taken some of their younger players to give them experience alongside his top stars. Former boss Ange Postecoglou did something similar last year. Scotland youth left-back Frame impressed with the Celtic under-18s and B team last season, as he scored to help Celtic win the Scottish youth cup.
Frame has attracted English Premier League interest from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur. The defender came through the Hoops academy and is looking to forge a pathway into the first team. The Parkhead club are playing two closed-door friendlies against Portimonense and some eager fans even managed to 'infiltrate' the first of the doubleheader.
Their pre-season continues soon in Japan before a clash with English Premier League side Wolves in Dublin.
