BREAKING: Police shut off street in Manchester after multiple cordons put in place - latest updates

A police cordon is in place in Gorton this morning - following reports of multiple others in place last night.

A stretch of Trust Road, near the junction with Mount Road, is currently taped off. Police also reportedly cordoned off some streets around a mile away last night (Wednesday).

Parts of Stelling Street, Chapman Street and Wistaria Road were reportedly taped off. According to eyewitnesses, officers were on the scene in the early hours.

The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed. It is not yet known whether the cordons are linked.
