BREAKING: Police at scene after shots fired at house in Manchester - latest updates

Police are at the scene of shooting in Harpurhey this morning after bullets were blasted at a house.

The incident happened at Evanton Walk, which is off Shieldborn Drive and Carisbrook Street, at around 2am. Harpurhey councillor Pat Karney confirmed that shots had been fired at a property.

In a tweet posted this morning he said: "Shots at a property in Harpurhey at 2 am this morning. We have been briefed by GMP.

"We are keeping watch on the area. Any info let me know. Guns off our streets."

Police said no injuries have been reported. An investigation is underway.

Officers and crime scene investigators are currently at the scene. A cordon is in place on the street.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said:

"Officers were called to an address on Evanton Walk, Manchester in the early hours of Friday 23 September 2022 to reports of a firearms discharge.

"Thankfully there were no injuries and GMP are investigating to establish the circumstances.
