Paul Scholes has admitted that he 'nearly cried' when Manchester City pipped United to the Premier League title in 2012. City went into their final match of the 2011/12 season at the top of the table on goal difference, level on points with United, and needed to match their rivals' result to guarantee winning the league.
Roberto Mancini's side ended up securing the title in the most dramatic fashion, coming from 2-1 down against QPR to win 3-2 after scoring two goals in stoppage time, with the winner being scored by Sergio Aguero.
City's triumph — their first league title since the 1967–68 season — has often been described as the greatest moment in Premier League history, and it almost brought United legend Scholes to tears.
