BREAKING: Multiple police scenes in place after 'horrific' attacks - latest updates
Multiple police scenes are in place in Hulme today following two 'horrific' attacks.
Both attacks happened in the area last night (Wednesday), police said. The first happened on Avenham Close at around 7.35pm.
A 19-year-old male was taken to hospital from the scene with serious injuries. The second attack happened on Salutation Street at around 7.40pm.

A 15-year-old boy was taken to hospital from the scene. A 14-year-old was arrested in relation to both incidents, police said.
He remains in custody for questioning. Police said multiple cordons remain in place in the area today, with one on Avenham Close.
Police powers have also been stepped up in a marked area, with these lasting until 9pm tonight. Under the Section 60 order, officers can stop anyone within the area and search them.
'Robust' investigations are ongoing. The attacks are believed to be connected.
