LIVE: Traffic STOPPED in both directions on M66 due to police incident - latest updates
Traffic has been stopped in both directions of the M66 motorway while police deal with an incident.
Officers are currently at the scene between junctions one and two, near Bury. Drivers are being warned to expect disruption.
North West Motorway Police have described the incident as 'ongoing' this morning (June 4). A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police wrote on Twitter: "We currently have blocks on the M66 NB & SB between junctions 1 & 2 due to an ongoing incident."

Drivers can expect delays this morning, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring system.
An update said:
"All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to police incident on M66 in both directions between J2 A58 Rochdale Road (Bury) and J1 A56 Walmersley Road (Ramsbottom).
"Congestion to J3 (Pilsworth Road) Northbound."
Police are at the scene on the M66 near Bury this morning.
