BREAKING: Forensic tent in place outside block of flats with police on scene - latest updates

A forensic tent is in place outside a block of flats in Tameside this morning.

Police are on the scene outside Dean Court in Dukinfield. Officers responded to a serious incident last night (Sunday).

A cordon is in place around the forensic tent. Pictures also show an officer standing guard outside one flat.

A post on the GMP Tameside Facebook page at around 11pm last night said: "Officers are currently dealing with an incident at Dean Court in Dukinfield. If you have any information, please can you contact us on 0161 856 9262."

The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed. Police have been contacted for further details this morning.

In a statement, a spokesperson for GMP said:

"Last night (Sunday, 16 April, 2023) at around 7.45pm, emergency services were called to an incident in Dean Court, Dukinfield.

"One man was injured and remains in hospital.

"A investigation is underway as police work to establish the circumstances."
