Road shut after serious crash - latest updates

A road in Oldham is closed off this morning after a serious crash in the early hours.

Middleton Road has been shut off in both directions, according to traffic alert service Inrix. It is closed between Featherstall Road South and Plato Street.

A stretch of Featherstall Road South, at the junction with Middleton Road, was also closed off earlier. Video footage seen by the Manchester Evening News showed a large emergency services presence at the scene at around 3am this morning.

Accident investigation work is now ongoing. It has not yet been confirmed whether anybody was injured.

Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for information.
